Project Runway: Season 5: Episode 5

This week the designers got a very pleasant surprise, that they will be designing an outfit for Brooke Shield's (also Guest Judge) character (Wendy)on Lipstick Jungle. Unfortunately this challenge wasn't so easy, they had to work in teams of two. The designers pitched their designs to Brooke and she choose 6 (designers) for team leaders. These six were Blayne,Jerrel,Kelli,Korto,Terri, and Keith. The designers picked their partners and came up with these teams Blayne and Leanne,Jerrel and Stella, Kelli and Daniel, Korto and Joe, Terri and Suede, and Keith and Kenley. The designers quickly got to work (after their trip to Mood of course!) with hopes of having their design on Lipstick Jungle. When their garments were complete their models hit the runway. Korto/Joe and Terri/Suede were both safe. The final 8 were Keith/Kenley,Kelli/Daniel,Jerrel/Stella,and Blayne/Leanne. Jerrel and Stella got much praise for their beautifully shaped dress with Stella's "LEATHA" work. Keith and Kenley surely got their dose of praise as well with their unique ensemble. Unfortunately Kelli and Daniel got a horrible rap for thier "slutty" (Micheal Kors' comment) garment. Blayne and Leanne also didn't get such good criticism with their Old Navy looking outfit. At the end Keith and Kenley got their work on Lipstick Jungle and Jerrel and Stella were safe. Poor Kelli was sent home and Blayne,Leanne, and Daniel were safe.

Project Runway: Season 5: Episode 4

This (last) weeks episode was all about the up coming Olympic games. Apolo Ohno was guess judge and he also surprised the designers with their challenge. This past weeks challenge was to create a look for the U.S. Olympic team just like Ralph Lauren. The designers drew inspiration from vintage pictures of Olympic games from the past. The designers quickly got to work with their patriotic fabric. Jennifer made a dress that was fit for a soccer mom's night out in the 1950s, not a current Olympic athlete. This look sent her packing. Daniel's ensemble looked way to much like a cocktail dress but, he was safe. It was between Korto,Terri, and Joe. Korto had a very sleek looking ensemble with a jacket and an oh so lovely pair of pants. Terri made a very sophisticated pant suit and Joe made a very athletic skort. The judges eventually chose Korto as their winner and she received immunity for next (this) weeks challenge.
Project Runway airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.

Project Runway: Season 5: Episode 3

Heidi and Tim surely surprised the designers this week with a double Decker bus tour of New York City. The designers were puzzled until Tim announced that this weeks challenge would be to make an ensemble for a night on the town inspired by New York City at night. The designers each got a camera which they took photos to draw inspiration from. After the designers found their inspiration, they had a half hour and $100.00 to spend at Mood. When the designers returned to Parson's they quickly got to work. With their ensembles ready, the models hit the runway. The final 6 were Kenley,Keith,Terri,Emily,Leanne, and Jennifer. Leanne, Kenley, and Terri were the top three with Leanne's inspiration being a tree planter which got her the runner-up position. It was between Terri (with graffiti as her inspiration) and Kenley (with a tiled map as her inspiration). Kenley won for her creativity but, Terri got mad props for her ambitious backless dress. The unfortunate bottom three were Keith, Emily, and Jennifer. Keith with his toilet paper looking dress (Michael Kors' Comment), Emily with her busy salsa dancing (comment) dress, and Jennifer with her boring/safe dress. Emily was voted off with her "movement of New York City" inspired ruffle dress.
