Perfect Cocktail Dress for Fall!
The perfect cocktail dress for fall is simply the Zac Posen Over sized Bow Dress originally $2,200.00 and now on sale for $1,650.00 at net-a-porter.com. This dress (http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/32419) can be worn with Christian Louboutin for Rodarte spiked stilettos for the perfect 80s punk touch. The best jacket for this look is certainly the Anna Sui Cropped Studded Jacket from net-a-porter.com (http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/33158) that wont take away from the delightful dress but, will definitely add to it. For a classic touch add the Nancy Gonzalez East-West Croc Clutch in black from Bergdorf Goodman.(http://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod34300009&parentId=cat20092&masterId=cat261004&index=2&cmCat=cat000000cat257221cat260101cat261004cat20092) This look will certainly get you noticed this fall.

Project Runway: Season 5: Episode 2
This weeks challenge was to create a cocktail dress made out of organic fabric. The designers were very happy and excited to get to work until Tim announced that the models would be shopping for their Eco friendly fabric which would either make or break their dress. Another twist, the models would be the designer's clients. The designers decided to grin and bare it and hope for the best. Unfortunately most models picked a silk and a jersey knit fabric which were highly unacceptable for a cocktail dress. Our innovative champions from last weeks episode didn't impress the judges and were just safe. The final five included Korto,Leanne,Kenley,Suede, and Wesley. Kenley created a "chic" (Micheal Kors' comment) cocktail dress which included a very voluminous neck line while, Suede took his time hand weaving strips of jersey and silk to create a very beautiful ballerina esq cocktail dress which gave him a well deserved winning. He did not recieve immunity but an opportunity to sell his dress on bluefly.com. While Kenley and Suede were celebrating their victory, Korto was sobbing on the runway because of her harsh critique. Fortunately, Korto was safe, unlike Wesley and Leanne. Leanne was trashed because of her busy dress but, she was safe. Wesley was kicked off the runway for his tasteless ensemble. Natalie Portman was the guest judge for this episode because of her new eco friendly shoe line.

Chanel Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2008/9
Chanel hosted their latest Haute Couture show on July 1st at the Grand Palais in Paris. The amazing show featured beautifully structured gowns and suits in every shape and color. Of course with Haute Couture, the widest range of materials from Chanel's classic tweed to remarkable crystals were used. My absolute favorite look in this collection was the 62nd, the way the feathers appeared with the gold and crystals in the light of the Grand Palais was spectacular. Karl Lagerfeld certainly did an amazing job with this collection as he does always but, for some reason it seems like he out did himself. It certainly is a shame that only 200 women worldwide buy haute couture these days unlike 200,000 of the past. The prices certainly have an effect because suits start at $25,000 and gowns; $100,000.

Project Runway: Season 5: Episode 1
The contestants (Blayne,Daniel,Emily,Jennifer,Jerell,Jerry,Joe,Keith,Kelli,Kenley,Korto,Leanne,Stella,Suede,Terri, and Wesley) arrived to their surprise that Austin Scarlet was waiting for them as the guest judge. The designers next challenge was to create an ensemble strictly made only from items from Gristedes, just like season 1. The designers had $75.00 and only 30 minutes to grab all that they needed to create a look that the judges would be impressed with. Most contestants including Suede and Korto used table cloths which Tim Gunn wasnt too happy about. A few designers were innovative and used items you wouldnt expect to be used as materials. Those designers included Daniel,Kelli, and Stella. Daniel and Kelli surely got recognized well, while Stella got trashed because of her tasteless trash bag ensemble. Jerry and Blane also didn't get a good rap because of Jerry's shower curtain coat and yellow latex gloves, he got the boot. Blane, I'm sure was very thrilled that the judges didn't give him the boot because of his playboy bunny Esq ensemble, partially made from diapers. The top two were as deserved, Kelli and Daniel. Kellis beautiful dress made with coffee filters, vacuum bags, and the spiral bound from a notebook, surely helped her win this challenge. While, Daniel was so close with his dress made out of plastic cups.
To view never before seen footage, extras, and to bid on the looks on this week's show visit http://www.bravotv.com/project_runway/season/5/
