Chanel Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2008/9
Chanel hosted their latest Haute Couture show on July 1st at the Grand Palais in Paris. The amazing show featured beautifully structured gowns and suits in every shape and color. Of course with Haute Couture, the widest range of materials from Chanel's classic tweed to remarkable crystals were used. My absolute favorite look in this collection was the 62nd, the way the feathers appeared with the gold and crystals in the light of the Grand Palais was spectacular. Karl Lagerfeld certainly did an amazing job with this collection as he does always but, for some reason it seems like he out did himself. It certainly is a shame that only 200 women worldwide buy haute couture these days unlike 200,000 of the past. The prices certainly have an effect because suits start at $25,000 and gowns; $100,000.
